How much does it cost?
Your cost will depend on a few factors including the age, breed and location of your dog or cat. You can get a free quote with absolutely no obligation now.
Is it difficult to apply for a pet health insurance plan?
It's simple. You can enroll online or call us at 1-800-799-5852 to speak to one of our friendly representatives.
How soon will my pet be covered?
Your pet is covered for injuries as soon as your plan is effective. Then after 30 days, your pet will be covered for illness as well. You can also get coverage for routine preventive care. See our plans for more details.
When will my plan be effective?
We issue pet health insurance plans on the 1st and 15th of the month. If your application is accepted and payment is received from the 1st to the 14th of the month, your anticipated effective date would be the 15th. If your application is accepted and payment is received after the 15th, your anticipated effective date would be the 1st of the following month. (Please note that all plans are subject to underwriting and are not effective without receipt of payment.)
When can I start using my pet health insurance?
Coverage for accidents and routine preventive care (if included in your plan), begins on the day your plan goes into effect. Illness coverage begins 30 days after your effective date.
What are my payment options?
Payments may be made by credit card or automatic check withdrawal. We accept payments on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis.
Can I save money by paying annually?
Yes. If you pay your plan in full at the beginning of your plan year, we'll waive the $10.50 issuance fee.
Can I switch to another plan at a later time?
Yes. All of our pet health insurance plans can be changed at any time. See our plans or call us at 1-800-799-5852 for more details.
Can I cancel my plan?
We will do everything possible to make sure you are satisfied with Hartville Pet Insurance, but you can cancel at anytime. If you cancel within the first 30 days, you may be eligible to receive a full refund. If you cancel after 30 days, you may be eligible for a partial refund. Please see your plan for details, refunds may vary by state. Please contact us if you are thinking about canceling your pet health insurance.
