Using Your Plan
How does it work?
With our pet health insurance plans, you can visit any veterinarian in the US or Canada. Simply pay for their services and submit a claim form along with any receipts.
Do only specific veterinarians accept pet health insurance?
You can use any licensed veterinarian in the US or Canada. Even specialist visits are covered, when the treatment provided is covered under your plan.
Can I use my current veterinarian?
Yes. You can use your veterinarian or any other licensed veterinarian in the US or Canada. You do not have to select from a list of providers.
What is covered?
You can protect your pet in case of injury, illness, or even for routine preventive care, like vaccinations and dental cleanings.

for more details.
Is anything excluded from coverage?
To keep our premiums low, there are some things that are not covered in our plans.
See the exclusions.
How do I submit a claim?
Fill out and sign a
claim form,
then mail, fax, or email it with a copy of your receipts to us.
How much money will I get reimbursed?
You’ll receive 80% of reasonable and customary charges for covered care, once your $100 deductible is met, up to your plan’s maximum limit per case and maximum yearly benefit.
How much is the deductible?
There is a low $100 deductible per year per pet. You’ll need to meet this deductible before we start reimbursing you for covered veterinary expenses.
How does the annual deductible work?
Your deductible only needs to be paid once a year. For example, if your plan was effective on October 1 and you paid a vet bill of $250 on December 12, you would be responsible for the first $100 of covered veterinary expenses to cover the deductible. We would then reimburse you for 80% of the remaining $150 of covered veterinary expenses. You would not be responsible for paying a deductible again until October 1 of the following year.
How long does it take to get my completed claim?
We make every effort to process claims as quickly as possible! Claims turnaround time can fluctuate based on the number of claims received. Our claims processors review every claim thoroughly and at times we may require additional paperwork.
Can my claim be paid directly to the veterinarian?
Yes. Simply check the box on the front of the claim form to send the reimbursement directly to the veterinarian.
Do you provide pet health insurance for residents of Canada?
No. Unfortunately, we are not able to write pet health insurance plans in Canada at this time. But if you live in the US and are traveling, you can take your pet to any licensed veterinarian in Canada for treatment.
